About Us

Debra Finnegan-Suler, Ph.D. is Director of CenterPoint. She is a clinical psychologist, teacher, and speaker who specializes in EMDR-enhanced, wellness-oriented psychotherapy and consultation. She has been in practice in Doylestown for over 16 years. As an outspoken advocate of therapeutic excellence, she believes in the art of healing, the power of our mind, and the importance of our inner resources. Dr. Finnegan-Suler has held faculty and staff positions at LaSalle University and Lehigh University where she won the Alfred Noble Robinson Award for Outstanding Performance and Unusual Promise of Professional Achievement. Her work combines a gentle sense of humor with a drive to empower clients with EMDR and Life Enhancement strategic thinking. She is a certified EMDR clinician. John Suler, Ph.D. is Director of Research and Development at CenterPoint. As a clinical psychologist and Professor of Psychology at Rider University, he is an internationally recognized expert in the study of emerging frontiers in clinical psychology. His prodigious research and writing in areas such as self help, the integration of eastern and western psychology, and the psychology of cyberspace have been reported by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the BBC, CNN, MSNBC, US News and World Report, ABC News, and others. He is a founding member of the International Society of Mental Health Online and consulting editor for Behavior Online, CyberPsychology and Behavior and The Contemporary Media Forum for The Journal of Applied Psychoanalysis. He is author of the books Contemporary Psychoanalysis and Eastern Thought, the online hypertext book The Psychology of Cyberspace, and Madman (a novel). Helen Huffington, M.S.S., L.S.W. is a specialist in EMDR treatment and training, specializing in working with the victims of long term and short term trauma. As a certified EMDR Consultant and Facilitator, she facilitates at national EMDR training groups and locally she provides individual and group consultation services for EMDR professionals in Center City Philadelphia, Mount Airy, and Doylestown. We are pleased to have Helen here at CenterPoint offering an ongoing consultation group and individual consultation for EMDR trained therapists who wish to advance their knowledge and skill. In private practice for 18 years, Helen is a master clinician well known for her combination of warmth and professional acumen. She graduated from the School of Social Work at Bryn Mawr College in 1982 and trained in the first class of the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia. In addition to her private practice, she worked for eight years at the day program at the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital and taught Social Work at Beaver College.

Toni Rex, Ed.D. is a past president of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association (PPA) and a founder and past president of the Pennsylvania Psychological Foundation, the charitable arm of PPA. She is a recipient of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association's 2001 Award for Distinguished Service. Toni has extensive experience in the psychology of corporate environments and is speaking out about the value of mentoring relationships at all levels of our community (Pennsylvania Psychological Foundation, 416 Forster Street, Harrisburg, PA 17102-1714 )

Barry G. Ginsberg, Ph.D. is the Director of the Center of Relationship Enhancement and of Ginsberg Associates (a child and family clinical practice). As a child and family psychologist, he has provided relationship enhancement therapy and enrichment programs to families, trained professionals throughout the USA and Canada since 1969, and is the originator of the parent-adolescent relationship development (PARD) program. Dr. Ginsberg is the author RELATIONSHIP ENHANCEMENT FAMILY THERAPY (John Wiley & Sons, 1997), and numerous articles about Relationship enhancement and family therapy. Dr. Ginsberg is a Diplomate in Family Psychology of the American Board of Professional Psychology, The Academy of Family Psychology, and The American Family Therapy Academy.

Linda Bips, Ed.D. is a well known motivational speaker and an expert in the transition issues of baby boomer parents and their families. She is the author of "Parenting the College Age Child" which was an outgrowth of her work with college students as the Director of Counseling at Muhlenburg College and her extensive research on baby boomer parents. Speaking engagements take her to colleges, universities, and high schools. Dr. Bips has been a guest on Oprah, Good Morning New York and her work has been featured in Madamoiselle, Good House Keeping and other magazines.
