Training and Education

CenterPoint is committed to mental health education and lifelong learning. As a founding member of the Network for Excellence in Mental Health Care we believe that all practitioners need to be thoroughly trained and aware of the accumulating wisdom within their field. We value our role as educators and wish to share the wisdom gained through our continuing training, research, and experience with other professionals and the general public.

EMDR is an advanced and specialized set of techniques within the field of mental health. Practitioners of EMDR must complete their professional training in mental health (including licensure or certification where applicable) and also complete a training program in EMDR. This training (both Level 1 and Level 2) must be given by instructors approved by EMDRIA (EMDR International Association). EMDR practitioners who wish to become "certified" must continue with further training under the guidance of an EMDRIA approved "consultant" and complete continuing education on a regular basis (see www.emdria.org for further information).
