EMDR is an advanced and specialized set of techniques within the field of mental health. Practitioners of EMDR must complete their professional training in mental health (including licensure or certification where applicable) and also complete a training program in EMDR. This training (both Level 1 and Level 2) must be given by instructors approved by EMDRIA (EMDR International Association). EMDR practitioners who wish to become "certified" must continue with further training under the guidance of an EMDRIA approved "consultant" and complete continuing education on a regular basis (see www.emdria.org for further information).
Training and Education

CenterPoint is committed to mental health education and lifelong learning. As a founding member of the Network for Excellence in Mental Health Care we believe that all practitioners need to be thoroughly trained and aware of the accumulating wisdom within their field. We value our role as educators and wish to share the wisdom gained through our continuing training, research, and experience with other professionals and the general public.

Continuing Education Group for EMDR Professionals

CenterPoint will be offering a consultation group for EMDR trained clinicians on the third Monday of the month from 10 am to noon. Helen Huffington, M.S.S., C.S.W., the Director of Professional Education at CenterPoint and an EMDRIA approved consultant, will be leading the group. Helen's ongoing EMDR consultation groups in Mt. Airy and Philadelphia have been well received and we are very pleased to offer a group here in Central Bucks. The fee is $50. Participants can use this training towards EMDRIA certification. Clinicians who are interested in joining the group should call us at 215-340-0525 to reserve a spot or get further information.
